Your Christian life is not a private, casual hobby to be squeezed into the margins of your week; it is an existence entirely dependent upon your literal, covenantal unity with the true Vine. You have been crucified and resurrected in Christ, and just as a branch survives only by drawing life from the vine, you are a lifeless, withered corpse apart from your proximity to and participation in Him. Do not succumb to the cowardly, feminized sentimentality of modern “Kumbaya” Christianity that avoids the rigors of sound doctrine; the Father is the Vine Dresser, and He will prune every fruitful branch to maximize its yield while casting the unproductive, slothful, and apostate into the fire. To abide in Christ is to abide in His Church, for the lie that you can love the Head while despising the Body has left the modern church infested with spiritual cancer. If you are not building your entire life—your home, your household, and your primary allegiances—around the corporate gathering of the saints on the Lord’s Day, you are drifting toward death. Repent of your lazy, irreverent autonomy, embrace the necessity of covenantal membership, and prove your discipleship through the only authentic metric that matters: the abundant, righteous fruit produced by a life genuinely transformed by the Holy Spirit.
