Knowledge is inherently impossible apart from the divine revelation of the Triune God found in Scripture. Because human beings are finite and fallible, any knowledge claim made outside of God’s infallible word lacks the necessary foundation of certainty. When mankind rejects the Creator, they do not enter a state of neutral ignorance; rather, they descend into self-deception and foolishness, willfully suppressing the truth that is clearly perceived in creation. Unbelievers rely on the uniform laws of nature and the coherence of reality—fruits of God’s covenantal order—while simultaneously mocking the very God who sustains that order.
The Christian mandate is to stop playing by the rules of the unbeliever’s failed epistemology. We must not attempt to prove the truth to those who already know God but choose to suppress Him; instead, we must hold up a mirror to their internal contradictions. By dismantling the irrationality of godless worldviews and grounding our own thinking entirely in God’s revealed truth, we expose the vanity of secular thought. We are called to contend boldly, knowing that Christ, who conquered sin and death, is the only source of wisdom and the only firm foundation for a society that is currently crumbling under its own rejection of Him.
