You cannot know anything truly unless you receive revelation from the One who knows everything. That is the hard truth of revelational epistemology. Without infinite knowledge yourself, everything you claim to know could be overturned by what you do not know. The only escape from this epistemic dead end is special revelation from the triune God who has exhaustive knowledge and has chosen to tell you specific things about Himself, His creation, and His law. By that revelation, you can reason and gain true knowledge about everything else. Apart from Him, knowledge is impossible and reality itself becomes unintelligible.
The problem of ethics is perfectly answered by the Christian worldview. The unbeliever denies objective morality while instinctively condemning atrocities like slavery and the Holocaust, yet he has no standard by which to judge. He borrows from the Christian worldview he rejects. The law of God is perfect, reviving the soul, and it defines objectively what it means to love God and neighbor. That law is not abolished. It is the foundation for superior thinking, superior living, and superior governing. The Great Commission commands you to disciple the nations and teach them to obey everything Christ commanded. Secularism is just rebellion against Christ by another name. You are saved for a purpose: to take dominion, to bring God’s law to bear on civil society, and to restore justice for your children and your children’s children.
