We live in a culture that is actively hostile toward the family, an institution God established long before any government or empire. Because the natural family structure is God’s design, it is under constant, demonic assault; this is evidenced by the devaluation of life, the subversion of gender roles, and the elevation of idols above human relationships. These are not merely social issues, but theological ones. All culture wars are ultimately battles over the lordship of Christ, and any attempt to exclude God from the life of the family or the public square is an act of rebellion and folly.
To raise a Christian family in these times requires fathers to lead by submitting their own lives to the total lordship of Jesus Christ. True Christian fatherhood is built on prayer, intentional instruction in God’s Word, and a commitment to shepherd hearts rather than just enforcing outward compliance. Fathers are commanded to love their wives sacrificially, present a united front with them, and discipline with the goal of restoration rather than retaliation. Ultimately, we must trust that God loves our children more than we do and that He is the perfect Father who guides us in raising the next generation to live for His glory.
