You have been given a purpose that is far greater than your own comfort, salvation, or personal spiritual experience. The Great Commission is not a suggestion or a nice idea for missionaries; it is a direct command from the One who holds all authority in heaven and on earth. Based on that authority, Jesus told you to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything He commanded. That means you are called to Christianize the entire world, not just a few individuals here and there. Every sphere of life, every government, every culture, every institution is to be brought under the Lordship of Christ. This is not optional. This is your purpose, and the growth and resilience of your Christian life are driven forward by embracing it. If you are not actively pursuing the dominion of Christ over your family, your community, and your nation, you are disobedient to your King. The pagan world does not need a watered down gospel that leaves their civilizations unchanged; they need the full weight of God’s law and the saving power of Christ. Secular governance is satanic governance, and you are called to replace it with the reign of King Jesus.
But this global conquest starts locally, intimately, and generationally. You disciple the nations by being faithful exactly where God has placed you, starting with your own home. Fathers, you are commanded to diligently teach your children the Word of God, to catechize them, to sing with them, to raise them to love and honor Christ. If you outsource this to church programs, you are failing. Get married, have many children, train them to be disciples who will in turn raise disciples. This is how the kingdom grows like leaven until it fills the whole lump. Meanwhile, you must grow as a disciple yourself. Your personal sanctification, your study of Scripture, your repentance from sin and slothfulness, your training in apologetics all of it is part of the mission. You cannot disciple others if you are not a disciple. You cannot change the world if you are not being changed. Embrace your purpose today, because what you do now echoes into eternity. Stop wasting time on trivial distractions and get to work. The King has given you a commission; now go and fulfill it.
