You have been joined together by the Spirit as the body, the bride, and the temple of Christ, and your King is rightfully jealous for the purity of His people. There can be no fellowship of the saints if the church is infested with sin. Sin is a cancer—a little leaven that leavens the whole lump—and it is the mechanism by which Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy your maturity, your relationships, and your witness. You have a solemn responsibility to stand watch over the souls of your brothers and sisters; this is not a suggestion but a necessity for the protection of the corporate body. If you see unrepentant sin in the life of a brother, you must confront it. This is not about shaming; it is the most loving, grace-filled act you can perform to rescue someone from the enslavement and death that sin inevitably produces.
Our sanctification redeems both our conduct and our relationships, but this requires us to abandon the ways of the world. When conflict arises within the body, do not act like a pagan by running to secular courts; settle matters among the saints, for we are called to judge angels and manage our own house. Cultivate thick skin, stop being easily offended, and remember that it is your glory to overlook an offense. Furthermore, kill the lack of contentment that so often breeds your sin. Whether you are single or married, young or old, God has assigned you your station in life for a purpose. Trust His sovereignty, be faithful in the now, and stop obsessing over what you do not have. You were once dead in your transgressions, but you have been washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Flee from sin, practice righteousness, and live as one who truly belongs to the King.
